Is angel food cake keto friendly? It is now! Absolutely delicious high protein, low carb treat with only 75 calories and 1.5 grams of net carbs!
12 large (400gms) of egg whites
1 tsp salt
2 tsp (6gms) of Cream of Tartar
125 grams of Confectioners Swerve/Erythritol or sweetener of choice
3 scoops (90gms) of Ketogenics Vanilla Cupcake Iso-Whey Protein
In a mixer whip egg whites with a punch of salt until foamy.
Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until very stiff peaks.
Fold in protein powder and sweetener with spatula
Pour into a greased 10 inch fluted cake pan. (Alternatively can use two bread pans or two springform pans.)
Bake at 350F for 45 minutes or 35 minutes for 2 smaller pans
Check at 25 minutes and add tinfoil on top, if needed, so as to not burn top of cake.
Once done, turn oven off, open oven door and allow to cool naturally for 10 minutes. This helps with not deflating
If using a fluted cake pan, turn pan upside down on cup to cool.
Let cool, it may deflate slightly, remove from pan and add topping and strawberries or toppings of your choice.
Use 12 egg whites from large eggs or 400gms from carton of egg whites
Sifting protein powder and sweetner is very important; this eliminates any clumps. Mix well after sifting.
Sift protein and confectioners erythritol together.
